Houses dominate (150), with 19 apartments and 5 plots of land. Three-bedroom homes (67) lead, followed by four-bedroom (39), two-bedroom (31), five-plus (24) and one-bedroom (2). The pattern is typical of South Auckland: family homes on quarter-acre-style sections, increasingly replaced by terraced townhouses.
For more choice nationally, see the house, townhouse and apartment pages.
Manukau City Centre has shopping, the Vector Wero events centre nearby and a railway line to central Auckland. The Southern Motorway links it to the CBD, roughly 25 km away, and Auckland Airport in Māngere is close. The area is highly multicultural, with strong Pacific and Asian communities.
Closer comparisons: Auckland as a whole, North Shore and Waitakere on the other side of the city, and Hamilton and Tauranga, which are separate markets well outside Auckland. Hauraki is a district further east.
For overseas buyers the first question in New Zealand is not price but permission: check eligibility before viewing.
New Zealand bans most overseas persons from buying existing homes. Citizens and residents of Australia and Singapore are generally exempt, as are New Zealand residents. Since 6 March 2026, Active Investor Plus visa holders may buy one home above NZ$5 million with consent. Some new-build routes exist under the Overseas Investment Act, so get legal advice before any offer. There is no stamp duty, but the bright-line property tax and legal fees apply (approx.; verify locally). The RBNZ official cash rate is 2.75%.
