Our map places 't Veld north of Alkmaar, among polder farmland, with Schagen, Heerhugowaard, Hoorn and Bergen all within a short drive. It is a rural setting rather than a resort, with cycling paths and dykes. Commuters to Alkmaar, Amsterdam or Hoorn live here, and prices are far below the Randstad cities.
Check the polder for water-level and subsidence issues, and ask about foundation type.
