Best sits on the A2 corridor next to Eindhoven, with a canal, woods and a compact centre. Eindhoven is the regional job centre, and Veldhoven, Waalre and Nuenen are neighbouring commuter towns. Sint-Oedenrode and Schijndel are a bit further north, with slightly more rural character.

Foreigners can buy without restriction. Bidding is competitive, often above the asking price. Once an offer is accepted, a purchase contract is signed, followed by a three-day cooling-off period, and a notary completes the transfer.
