Buyer's guide: Binbrook
Binbrook real estate is almost entirely detached housing: 49 of our 51 listings are houses, and the median asking price is €532,188. It is a growing suburban community in the City of Hamilton, Ontario, so buyers should look at Canadian foreign-buyer rules before shortlisting anything.
All figures are asking prices from current RealEstateAbroad listings, converted to euros. The middle half of listings is a fairly tight band, which suggests a market of similar newer family homes.

The bedroom split shows where the demand sits: 21 four-bedroom homes, 18 three-bedroom, 6 with five or more bedrooms and 4 two-bedroom homes. The type mix is 49 houses, 1 commercial and 1 apartment.
That is a family-led market; if you want a flat, apartments in Canada are better compared in city centres. Browse houses in Canada for equivalents elsewhere.
Binbrook sits in the Glanbrook area of Hamilton, centred on a conservation reservoir and a village core, with newer subdivisions around it. Residents typically commute by car to Hamilton, the Greater Toronto Area or the nearby Niagara region. Expect larger lots and newer builds than in older city neighbourhoods, but plan for car-dependent living and school-bus catchments.
The federal ban on foreign purchases of residential property is in place until 1 January 2027, with no extension announced and a replacement framework reported. Exemptions exist (for example certain work-permit holders), so ask a lawyer whether you qualify. Ontario adds a 25% Non-Resident Speculation Tax for many foreign buyers. Ontario land transfer tax is tiered at 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2% and 2.5% across price bands, with thresholds of $55,000, $250,000, $400,000 and $2m.
Our Canada buying guide covers the process and the Canada financing page covers mortgages.
Stoney Creek, Hamilton and Ancaster are the nearest larger markets, with Grimsby, Waterdown and Dunnville a little further around the region. Start at the Canada property page for the full country.

The federal ban applies to many non-Canadians until 1 January 2027, with exceptions. Speak to a Canadian lawyer before making an offer.
A 25% non-resident speculation tax may apply to foreign purchasers in addition to land transfer tax. Check whether you qualify for a rebate.
Very few. Only one apartment is currently in our listings.
The median home is 182 m², which reflects the many suburban family houses in the sample. That is larger than in most city-centre listings, so compare price per m² and not only the total price.
