A small beach town
Carpinteria is a small city on the coast about 12 miles east of Santa Barbara, known for its long beach, a downtown on Linden Avenue and greenhouse flower growing. The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner stops in town. Wealthy Montecito and the city of Santa Barbara lie to the west, while Ventura, Oxnard and Port Hueneme are along the coast to the south-east, and Ojai is inland. Coastal homes can be affected by flood, wildfire and mudslide risk, and insurance costs are high, so get a quote before you offer.
