Buyer's guide: Khashuri
Property for sale in Khashuri is a small-town Georgian market, with a median asking price of GEL 224,000 across 54 listings on RealEstateAbroad. The town is a rail junction in Shida Kartli, between Tbilisi and the Black Sea. Our listing data is incomplete on property types, so treat the numbers as indicative.
Asking prices are in Georgian lari (GEL) as listed. Our data does not break the stock down by type, and the median size looks large for a town market, so use the per-m² figure as a rough guide only.
| Measure | Khashuri |
|---|---|
| Listings | 54 |
| Median asking price | GEL 224,000 |
| Median price per m² | GEL 725 |
| Bedroom split | 2 one-bed, 5 two-bed, 2 three-bed, 5 four-bed, 3 with five or more |
With only 17 listings carrying bedroom counts, we can say little about the mix, but larger four- and five-bedroom homes appear alongside smaller ones, which fits a town where detached family houses with yards are common alongside Soviet-era flats. Houses with land are often what foreign buyers want, but check each plot's category.
Georgia's country page lists the wider property for sale in Georgia options.
Khashuri sits on the main east-west railway and road corridor, about 120 km west of Tbilisi, and is the gateway to the Borjomi and Bakuriani area of mineral springs and ski slopes. Surami, with its fortress and mountain pass, is nearby. The town is a working place, not a resort, and attracts buyers who want low prices and a base near Borjomi-Kharagauli and Bakuriani.
Heating and winter conditions matter, so ask about gas supply and insulation.
Foreigners can buy non-agricultural land and buildings in Georgia, but not agricultural land, with limited exceptions; confirm each parcel's land category in the public registry. From 1 March 2026 the property threshold for residence is $150,000, which most Khashuri homes will not reach. Registration at the public registry is quick, and transaction taxes are low, but use a local lawyer to check title and debts.

Yes, if the land is non-agricultural. Check the land category in the registry.
From 1 March 2026 the threshold is $150,000 in property, which is above most local prices.
Georgian sellers typically list in lari, though some quote dollars.
Roughly 40 km by road, so Khashuri works as a cheaper base.
The area gets snow, so check heating and road access.
