Much of the housing was built since the 2000s in master-planned neighbourhoods such as those around Menifee Lakes and Sun City, the latter an age-restricted (55 plus) area. Where Menifee sits and who buys here
The city lies off Interstate 215, between Temecula to the south and Riverside to the north, so many residents commute to jobs in those cities or in Orange County, which can take well over an hour at peak times. That commuting reality is why prices here undercut the coast.
