About Barstow
Barstow is a rail and highway junction between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, with a large BNSF railyard, military and logistics employers and a historic Route 66 downtown. Summers are very hot and winters cool and windy. It is remote, so buyers weigh the low prices against long drives to a major city. Investors target rentals for workers, while overseas buyers sometimes use it as a low-cost foothold in California.
