Many bedroom fields are empty, so confirm layouts directly. See India's apartment listings for flats in newer towers.
Meerut is a large city in western Uttar Pradesh, roughly 70 km north-east of Delhi, known for sports goods and a major cantonment. Improved road links and the Delhi-Meerut regional rail corridor (phased into service, so check the current status) have shortened the trip and pushed demand along the route. For comparison, the Delhi region towns Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Delhi itself are all larger and costlier markets. Ghaziabad is the closest of these to Meerut.
Meerut is open to NRIs and OCI cardholders for homes and commercial units, with farmland, plantations and farmhouses excluded. A buyer of non-Indian origin who lives overseas is outside the scheme unless the Reserve Bank gives specific approval. Uttar Pradesh adds stamp duty and a registration charge on the deal, which together run to several percent of value, so ask a local lawyer for the figures that apply on the day. Insist on a clean title chain, an encumbrance certificate and, for any new scheme, a RERA number.

It is far cheaper, with a median of €55,420, and the transport links to Delhi have improved. Commuting times still depend on traffic and rail status.
Yes. NRIs and OCI holders can buy residential and commercial property, subject to FEMA rules and payment through banking channels.
State stamp duty and registration charges, which add several percent. Confirm the current Uttar Pradesh rates.
Look for RERA registration, the approved layout, and past delivery records. Visit completed projects.
