The area
Jægerspris Castle and the surrounding Nordskov forest and deer park are the best-known local sights, and the fjord shore has beaches and sailing clubs. Frederikssund is about 10 minutes away for shops and the station, and Copenhagen is about an hour by car or by train from Frederikssund. Buyers are Copenhagen commuters wanting more space, retirees and people looking for countryside near the water. Public transport is limited in the smaller villages, so a car is useful. Check whether a property is zoned for year-round residence or as a summer house.
