Houses account for 298 listings, land 25, apartments 16 and commercial 13. Three-bedroom homes are 156, two-bedroom 98, four-bedroom 36, five or more 20 and one-bedroom 5. The result is a typical small Ontario city market with bungalows and two-storey homes, and some waterfront. See Canadian houses and land pages for other places.
Trenton is home to CFB Trenton, the main Royal Canadian Air Force air mobility base, which drives local employment and housing demand. The Trent-Severn Waterway starts here and offers boating inland to Georgian Bay. Prince Edward County, with its wineries and beaches, is just across the bay. Highway 401 and VIA Rail serve the area, making Toronto and Ottawa reachable in a few hours. Waterfront homes cost more, and some rural lots rely on wells and septic systems.
The federal foreign-buyer ban is in place until 1 January 2027, with no extension announced and a replacement framework reported. Ontario's Non-Resident Speculation Tax is 25%. Exemptions are narrow, so speak to an Ontario real estate lawyer before an offer. More on process in our Canada consultation guide and financing guide. Explore the Canada overview for other markets.
Belleville is the larger neighbour, Prince Edward County is the island-like peninsula, Tweed is inland, Cobourg on Lake Ontario, Greater Napanee east and Peterborough west.
