North Huron includes the town of Wingham and the villages of Blyth and Brussels, in Huron County. Blyth is known for its summer theatre festival. It is an agricultural area with small main streets, schools and a local hospital in the wider county. Drive times to London and Kitchener-Waterloo are around an hour and a half or more, so it works best for local workers, retirees and remote workers. The place has no coordinates in our records.
In places like Wingham and Blyth, price depends on condition, lot size and distance from the main street more than on fashion. Houses with updated heating, a newer roof and a large garage tend to sell fastest, and older brick houses can be good value if the wiring and plumbing have been renewed. Commercial listings should be judged on tenant history and zoning, because small-town retail rents are modest. Ask the municipality about development charges before buying a vacant lot.
Ontario applies the same framework everywhere in the province. The federal residential ban for foreign purchasers is due to end on 1 January 2027, and the province's 25% non-resident levy and tiered land transfer tax come on top of the price. Ask a lawyer how these apply to the specific parcel, since main-street commercial buildings and farm parcels are treated differently from houses.
We set out the typical sequence in our Canada consultation guide and the Canada financing guide.
Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton are not near North Huron. They are much bigger markets that help show how modest the local prices are. The Canada overview lists more.

Prices are low relative to southern Ontario, but demand is local and resale can be slower. A low entry price helps, but check how long similar homes took to sell.
Check zoning and permits with the municipality first, since some uses are restricted in main-street areas. Ask for the tenant history and any environmental reports on older commercial buildings.
Ontario's 25% non-resident speculation tax may apply to foreign buyers, plus land transfer tax. Your lawyer can confirm whether any exemption fits your case.
Almost none. The stock is houses, plots and commercial.
