Buyer's guide: Vejby
Vejby is a village on the Kattegat coast of North Zealand, in Gribskov municipality, and Vejby real estate is mostly houses, with some areas of summer cottages. We list 62 properties with a median asking price of €534,527, which is above its inland neighbours. Here is what to know.
Asking prices from current RealEstateAbroad listings, in euros.
| Measure | Vejby |
|---|---|
| Listings | 62 |
| Median asking price | €534,527 |
| p25 to p75 | €415,446 to €725,190 |
| Median price per m² | €6,439 |
| Median size | 90 m² |
Houses account for 56 listings, villas 4 and plots 2. Four-bed (28) and five-plus (18) are common, with three-bed (13) and two-bed (1). A median size of just 90 m² with those bedroom counts indicates compact plots of cottages and older summer houses, so the high price per m² is a location premium. See Danish houses and villas.

Vejby has sandy beaches, dune plantations and the Vejby Strand coastline, plus walking routes toward Tisvildeleje and Gilleleje. Copenhagen is around 60 km away, roughly an hour, so many owners treat it as a weekend base. Our nearby links include Copenhagen, Odense and Aalborg only as large-city fallbacks; the real neighbours are the North Zealand coastal villages.
Summer-house zones have restrictions: you may not be allowed to live there year-round.
Non-residents need Ministry of Justice permission to buy, and holiday homes are the hardest to get approved. If the house is in a designated summer-house area, year-round residence is usually prohibited, which can make the permission question much harder. The deed registration fee is DKK 1,850 plus 0.6% of the price. Ask your adviser to check the zoning (sommerhusområde or helårsbolig).
Our Denmark buying guide, financing page and Denmark hub cover further steps.
A summer-house zone can rule out year-round living and complicate a non-resident's permit.
Copenhagen is the capital and the closest big market. Odense and Aalborg are on Funen and in Jutland, respectively, and are different markets.
