Houses in South Korea
Houses are the smallest of the three main categories in South Korea on RealEstateAbroad, with 210 listings out of 1,703. That mirrors the country itself: most urban Koreans live in apartment complexes, so detached homes are a niche choice, found in suburbs, on Jeju and in rural townships.
Across all property types, the median asking price in South Korea is €2,861,345, with 25% of listings below €1,197,772 and 25% above €6,181,835. The median per m² is €5,710. Houses specifically tend to be cheaper per m² than central apartments or commercial floors, but they carry land value, so the total ticket can still be high near Seoul. All figures are asking prices from current listings.
If you want investment stock, commercial property is more widely traded, and land suits builders. For an overview of how locations compare, see the South Korea country page, and for process details, the buying guide.
Foreign residents on long-term visas can sometimes access Korean mortgages; non-residents usually cannot. Review financing in South Korea and run numbers in the mortgage calculator.

Less common than apartments. Detached houses are mostly in suburban and rural areas, and are a small share of what is currently listed.
Yes. You must report the purchase to the local government within 60 days of the contract, and you need a permit for restricted zones.
Jeonse is a lump-sum deposit lease with no monthly rent. If a house you are buying is under jeonse, the deposit liability usually passes to you as the new owner.
Not by itself. Some regional investment schemes, such as those on Jeju, have linked property investment to residence status, but rules change. Check current immigration policy.
